Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh laying foundation stone of Govt.Degree College building  at Dhami (16 Miles) in  Shimla district  on 24.2.2016.Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh said the Shimla Rural assembly segment had witnessed speedy and all round development during last three years and special emphasis was being laid on strengthening the road infrastructure besides opening health, education and other important institutes to facilitate the people.He was addressing a public meeting at Dhami-Halog today. He said Rs. 77.21 crore were spent on roads in Shimla Rural constituency during last three years besides constructing 76 kilometers of new road length.  He said that a sum of Rs. 237 crore was being spent on construction of buildings and Rs. 2.36 crore had been sanctioned for construction of two bridges in this segment. Apart from this, 27 schools were either opened/ upgraded in the constituency.Shri Virbhadra Singh said that 50 bedded hospital at Sunni, seven Primary Health Centres, (PHCs), three Community Health Centres and three Health Sub-Centres had been upgraded or opened in the constituency. 

Besides,  PWD and IPH sub-divisions were opened at Dhami and an Industrial Training Institutes at Sunni, Dargi and Jalog. He said a government degree college would soon come up at Ghandal, adding that a combined office building would also be constructed at Dhami to house all offices in under one roof. He also assured to fill up vacant posts of doctors in the health institutes of the constituency at the earliest.He directed the electricity department to set up transformers wherever required before commissioning of the Gharog-Ghandal lift water supply scheme which was being commissioned with an outlay of Rs. 105 crore. This scheme would benefit the population of around 41 panchayats of the Sunni area.The Chief Minister laid foundation stone of government degree college at 16 miles (Ghandal) near Dhami to  be constructed at a cost of Rs. 10.63 crore. Besides the ground floor, the building will have three floors housing geography lab, an instrumental room, lecture theatres, examination branch, separate room for scouts & guides, common rooms, a library, sports room and multipurpose hall etc. 

Virbhadra Singh also inaugurated the three storey Community Health Centre (CHC) building at Halog completed with an outlay of Rs. 6.36 crore which will also have parking facility. He laid foundation stone of the Veterinary hospital building at Dhami to be constructed at a cost Rs. 83 lakhs. The Chief Minister also directed the Transport Department to start bus services from Shimla to Chanawag  in the evening on the demand of the people of the area.He announced a sum of Rs 10,000 for the children of GSSS Dhami for presenting cultural programme.Rural Development and Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Anil Sharma said that it was a matter of great satifaction that 70 percent candidates affiliated to the Congress Party won the Panchayat elections and lambasted the BJP for spreading rumours of withdrawing the powers of Panchayat representatives.  He said that the people were wise enough to understand the divisive politics of the BJP and would not fall prey to their propoganda.Pradhan Gram Panchayat Dhami, Shri  Jagdeep Kanwar thanked the Chief Minister for laying  foundation stone  of the degree college and inaugurating the CHC at Dhami. He also placed forth the local demands of the area. The prominent one being opening of  sub-treasury at Dhami.DCC President, Shri Kehar Singh Khachi, Ex-MLA, Shri Sohan Lal, Chairperson, Zila Parishad, Ms. Dharmila Harnot, HPCC, Secretary, Shri Pradeep Verma, BCC President, Shri Chandershekhar, Member, Zila Parishad, Shri Rajesh Sharma, chairperson, Panchayat Samiti, Smt. Meena, Member, BoD, HPSIDC, Shri Pramod Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Shri Rohan Thakur, SP Shri  D.W. Negi were also present on the occasion amongst others.
