Jai Thakur, an amateur photographer has showcased his photography prowess at Where the Roads Lead…,a travel photography exhibition currently on at the Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi. It is being organized by Photo Commune, a club of young and enthusiastic amateur photographers who have been doing quality photography for several years. Jai is an avid traveler and loves to capture nature, culture and diversity of India. Along with his works, pictures of 8 other travel photographers on various aspects of travel have been put on show in the exhibition.According to Jai Thakur, “You Spoke Too Soon… is the title of my work on display at this exhibition. Through this series I have tried to portray the fact that body language is the most effective language in the world that transcends all boundaries and cultures. Even if a person doesn’t talk, his/her gestures express some kind of feeling.

I am a travel freak. Over the last three years, I discovered that the local cultures, religion, topography of the region have a lasting effect on the body language of inhabitants. Besides, the body language says a lot about personality type of the individual as well. I have tried to capture all of this in You Spoke Too Soon…,” adds Jai.A Delhi University graduate and a post graduate in advertising, Jai Thakur started photography in 2013 out of his passion for travelling. Working with MNCs for last few years, Jai quips, “I go office for five days but I am into photography for all seven days.” As and when he manages to steal some time off his daily routine, he dedicates it to his passion - photography. Although he is exploring all genres of photography but his heart beats the max for travel.  His works have been displayed at national and international platforms. His works were chosen for Sahitya Kala Parishad’s Annual Art Exhibition 2015. Some of the leading newspapers have published his pictures besides publications of repute like Lonely Planet. Online platforms like IndiaPictures’ and Guardian Travel’s Instagram pages have found his pictures worthy enough to be put up and shared.
