Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has felicitated veteran journalist and son of the soil Jawahar Lal Kaul for being conferred with Padam Shri -the highest civilian award of India on the 66th Republic Day. In a statement to CNS the BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir hailed Kaul for his services in the field of journalism.The BJP spokesman said that as a journalist Kaul covered varied fields in his 40 year career. “He (Kaul) started his career from Times of India as a working journalist. He attained his superannuation from Indian Express Group of newspapers in 2000 as senior Assistant Editor.”He was awarded the Padam Shri for his contribution in the field of journalism, Jehangir added.He said Kaul has been an inspiration for young journalists and deserved the highest civilian award.
