All eyes are on Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) to come up with its decision on government formation. Reliable sources informed CNS that the party is going to hold an important meeting on January 31 in which besides the top leadership all the District, Block and Zonal presidents will participate.  A party leader wishing anonymity said that it will be a day-long session in which opinion about government formation with Bhartiya Janata Party will be sought from every member of the party. “Besides top leaders, all the MLA’s, MLC’s, District, Block and Zonal presidents have been asked to ensure their presence in the meeting. After seeking the opinion the leadership most probably will contact BJP with certain pre-conditions. And if BJP accepts those set of conditions, government formation process will be over in the first week of February,” the PDP member said. The known face in the PDP who talked to CNS said that there is a strong line of thinking in the PDP that the alliance with BJP has only proved detrimental to its interests and halted its growth, especially in Kashmir Valley. “Majority of the PDP leaders believe that BJP did not show interest in implementing Agenda of Alliance in letter and spirit. The second inning with the BJP will be a different one and the party will take a tough stand in implementing all the points mentioned in the Agenda of Alliance,” he said. Confirming about the proposed meeting of the party, another leader said that they will review how much the PDP has achieved while forming the government with BJP.     “The fact is that our governance agenda including bringing the power projects back from NHPC did not show any progress till date. We have our own base in the region. People except wonders from us and we will not disappoint our supporters. Mehbooba Ji will mean business no matter which party will be our ally,” he said.
