Keeping his promise to lend helping hand to the dependants of the victims of road accident happened at Amritsar-Mehta road in the recent past, Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue Minister Punjab today gave away cheques of Rs. 25 to the next of the kin of the victims.Majithia today expressed his heartfelt condolences at the ‘Antim Ardas’ held at village Kotli Dholeshah in commemoration of the victims of this dreaded accident. Sharing the grief of the families of the deceased Mr. Majitha said that although this loss is irreparable but the government is standing firmly with the families of the deceased in this hour of crisis. He said that the victims of this road accident belong to poor families and they were doing rigorous hard work each day to meet their both ends. It is pertinent to mention here that in a horrific road accident at Amritsar-Mehta road on the night of 31 December between a Bus and a ‘Garuka’, many labourers were died who commuting back to their homes in Garuka.   

Mr. Majithia said that it is the duty of any welfare government to reach out to the people in the hour of any crisis. He said in Punjab a pro people government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal is at the helm of affairs. He said immediately after knowing the loss of lives in this dreadful accident the Punjab Government started the relief activities and the wounded were taken to the nearby hospitals. He said that he personally visited the Guru Ram Dass Charitable Hospital to enquire about the health of the wounded and he promised that the government would provide free medical treatment to the wounded and Rs. 2 lakh to the dependants of the deceased.Mr. Majitha gave away cheques of Rs. 2 lakh to the dependants of deceased Ramandeep kaur, Sandeep Kaur, Jagir Kaur, Manjinder Kaur, Sharnjit Kaur. 

Earlier in the day Mr. Majitha  also attended the ‘ Antim Ardas’ at village Sarhala held in commemoration of Jagdish Kaur and Mangal Singh and Antim Ardas’  at village Sidhwan held for victims Sawarn Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Davinder Kaur and Ranjit Kaur. Mr. Majithia gave away cheques of Rs. 2 lakh to the dependants of victims. Mr. Majitha was accompanied by SDM Mr. Rohit Gupta, Talbir Singh Gill, Major Shivi, Prof. Sarchand Singh, Kulwinder Singh Dhariwal, Advocate Bhawant Singh Sialka, Dr. Tarsem Singh Sialka, Balbir Singh Chandi Chairman, Ajit Singh, Sarpanch Jagir Singh, Sadhu Singh, Happy, Bhupinder Singh, Gulzar Singh,Manohar Singh, Bhagwant Singh, Dilbagh Singh Lehirka, Dr. Avtar Singh, Harbhajan Singh Chairman, Balkar Singh, Ranjit Singh Raja, Resham Singh Bhullar, Bika Sarpanch and Amar Singh etc.
