“Blood should flow in the veins, not in drains”, said Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, the spiritual head of the Nirankari Mission in his special message to the donors at  the tenth Annual Blood Donation Camp , organised by the local branch of Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, here today.In his inaugural address, Mr.Naranjan Singh IAS, former Chairman, Punjab SC/ST Commission (Retd) said: “It is heartening to learn that Nirankari’s Mission has emerged as world’s No.1 religious organisation in terms of voluntary blood donation.”Sant Nirankari Mandal, Chandigarh Zonal Incharge, Dr. B.S.Cheema said: “In our current year’s campaign comprising 18 events, 2841units of blood have been donated in the previous 11 camps.Local Mukhi Mr. Devinder Bhajni said, “275 units of blood were donated by Nirankari devotees including 50 women. Whereas Sh. Mohinder Singh Ji Parmukh wished good health for all the devotees. PGI, Transfusion Medicine, Blood Transfusion Officer Dr.Usha Rao who headed a 20-members team said: “The level of self-motivation in Nirankari devotees is par excellence.” Dr.Suchet Sachdev, Assistant Professor, Transfusion Medicine, PGI said: “That the contribution by women in Nirankari Mission’s blood camps is over 20 percent, is very significant.”
