Mechanical students of Quest group of institutions Kamaljit singh,Amandeep singh,tajbir singh chahal developed pedal powered washing machine which is having capacity of up to 6 kg washing the clothes . This machine would save time on the one hand but on the other hand it would become great helpful in saving fossil fuels as no electricity ,oil or coal is used .It is very helpful in rural areas .Besides It’s a nice tool for exercise in sedentary life style which works just with pedalling only . With the pedalling motion causes the drum of the washing machine to rotate and at the same time, superfluous electricity is generated and clothes are washed .
While Speaking at the moment D.S.Sekhon,Chairman of the institute said that pedal powered washing machine combines a stationary bicycle and washing machine.one can exercise while at the same time simultaneously washing your clothes .It has proper filter which choose avoid the obstruction of the drain pipe .Belt transmits engine’s moment to the shave and a blocking automatic system which doesn’t allow door to open while functioning .According to him It is a great innovation to save non-renewable energy and very useful for health and fitness.
