A meeting of District Disaster Management Committee was convened by Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora here today. During the meeting, preparedness of the committee and various other issues were discussed so that immediate relief and rescue measures could be taken during any natural calamity.Deputy Commissioner on the occasion directed the officers to furnish a comprehensive report with regard to available equipment and requirement for the same. He urged them to work in complete coordination during such emergency situations.
The meeting was informed that master trainees have already been trained while as VLWs, forest guards and other volunteers are being imparted training on disaster management. Moreover, village public telephones are also been kept functional in every village to strengthen the communication system. The officers on the occasion flagged the need for motorized boats, JCB and other such equipment. Among others, ACR Bandipora, concerned SDMs besides officers and representatives of SDRF, police and other departments were present in the meeting.
