Stephens International Public School celebrated its ninth Annual Day ‘UTSAV’ – 2015’ at General Zorawar Singh auditorium here today .On the occasion, Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh was the Chief Guest while Additional Director General of Police Dr. S P Vaid was the Guest of Honour.Former MLA Basholi Kanta Andotra, Director School Education Smita Sethi, Chairman of the School, Dr. Kamal Saini, Principal of the School, Satvinder Saini besides parents and students in large numbers were present on the occasion.Addressing a large gathering, Choudhary Lal Singh said that extra-curricular activities are an essential component of the education process for preparing the students to effectively face future challenges.
The Minister said that the aim of education is not merely passing examinations but to develop the personality of the students . He said that alongside academic pursuits other activities provide an excellent opportunity for the youth to exhibit and develop their creative talents .Appreciating the efforts of school management for organizing the programme to provide an apt platform to the students , Choudhary Lal Singh said that conducive environment should be given to nurture creativity in students . He wished students and school management heights of success in the future.The Minister urged the teaching fraternity to impart quality education, besides inculcating moral values and discipline in students stressing that teachers have a vital role to play in shaping the personality of the students . In his address, Chairman of the school, Dr. Kamal Saini asked the students to work hard and excel in coming exams. He said education is vital for better tomorrow and asked students to work towards bringing about a positive change in the society .
The Principal of the School, Satvinder Saini presented welcome address and also highlighted the achievements of the school for the year 2014-15.Earlier, the students of the school presented a colourful programme which was highly appreciated by the audience.Later, Choudhary Lal Singh, Dr. S P Vaid also distributed mementos and certificates among the meritorious students who brought laurels to school in sports activities and painting competitions and JKBOSE exams in 2013-14.Vote of thanks was presented by Kunal Saini.
