Cabinet Sub-Committees (CSCs) constituted to discuss the implementation of Food Safety Act (FSA) in the State and the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RR) Plan of the Hydro Electric Project on Kishan Ganga in Gurez Tehsil of Bandipora today met under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal   SinghThe members including Minister for Law, Relief and Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari, Minister for Finance, Dr. Hasseb A Drabu, Minister for Forests, Mr. Bali Bhagat, Minister for CA&PD, Choudhary Zulfkar Ahmed, Minister for Revenue, Mr. Javid Mustafa Mir also participated in the CSCs meeting which was conducted through video conference.The CSC on FSA met and discussed the various parameters to be undertaken for ensuring the implementation of the Act which envisages  to give food grains to the public at a much subsidised rate and has been implemented in various states of the country. It was decided that the CSC would meet again to finalize the policy before submitting it to the Cabinet for approval.

The CSC on the rehabilitation and resettlement plan for the project affected families of Kishan Ganga Hydro Electric Project discussed the broad parameters of the draft to be submitted to the Cabinet for final consideration and approval. It was also decided in the meeting that the steps should be taken for initiating disciplinary action against the then Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora who has on his own taken up the matter of providing relief to the affected families with the NHPC even before the approval by the competent authority.The CSC also discussed the parameters for framing the general rehabilitation and resettlement policy for the people getting affected on account of various Hydro Electric Projects to be undertaken by the Government in future.
