Secretary Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Science & Technology Departments, Mr. Satesh Nehru today reviewed the functioning of Sheep Breeding and Research Farm, Reasi.While reviewing the functioning of the Research Farm, The Secretary said that the Sheep Husbandry Department has a major role in development of small ruminant sector to upgrade the socio economic status of the rural masses in the state. He stressed for strict implementation of the schemes launched by the government for the overall development of the sector.The Secretary reviewed the pace of progress of various centrally sponsored schemes of Sheep Husbandry sector viz RKVY, IDSRR, ASCAD, ESVHD, RIDF etc. The Secretary stressed upon the field and farms officers of the Department to redouble their efforts for delivering the services to the farmers and breeders more effectively so that the targets fixed by the department are achieved well in time.The Secretary took keen interest in the ongoing shearing operation at the Sheep Breeding & Research station, Dugalla and praised the department for its efforts. He also gave a patient hearing to the problems faced by the farm employees and asked them to work with zeal and enthusiasm for the benefit of the farmers.Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu and other senior officers attended the meeting.
