Minister of State for Public Works and Revenue, Sunil Kumar Sharma today said the remote Chergi area of district Kishtwar would soon get road connectivity which was a long pending demand of the people of the area.The Minister made the announcement at Chergi after trekking for six hours to reach the remote village, which has no road connectivity.Addressing the people at Chergi, the Minister announced that the foundation stone for the dream road project from Kwartenji Bridge to Cherji will be laid tomorrow.Enroute from Kishtwar to Chergi, the Minister held a series of public meetings in remote areas of Harijan Basti, Chichwara, Dedna and Bhata.

Mr Sunil Sharma said most of the MGNREGA liabilities have been cleared by the Rural Development Department and asked the people that any special case of non-payment should be brought into his notice which will taken  up with Assistant Commissioner Development.He asked the administration to improve the work culture and warned of strict action against the employees habitual of remaining absent. He also announced that with the execution of various projects which are in pipeline across Kishtwar more than 3000 unemployed skilled and unskilled people will get employment.Minister also visited the families of those who lost their lives in a recent accident there and paid condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the peace of departed souls.Minister was accompanied by various district officers during tour.
