3 CRPF men, 2 civilians injured in Pampore grenade blast

Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personal and two civilians were injured after suspected militants hurled a grenade at Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday morning.An official told Srinagar-based news agency GNS that the militants lobbed a grenade towards a party of CRPF standing outside Jammu and Kashmir Bank at Kadlabal in Pampore, resulting in splinter injuries to three personal while two pedestrians were injured.The injured persons were immediately rushed to SDH Pampore for treatment. However two CRPF men were later referred to SKIMS Soura. The injured CRPF men were identified as Mohan Kumar, Masurcar and Rajesh Roshan while the civilians were identified as Mehraj Din Sheikh and Lateef Ahmad Sheikh.Soon after the grenade attack, some fire shots were also heard in the area. Large contingents of police, CRPF and army immediately cordoned off the area and conducted searches. (GNS)
