Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) president and MLA Langate Er Rashid has strongly condemned Sang Parivar for trying to prove Tipu Sultan as a communal ruler.In a statement to KNS, Er Rasheed said. “These fascist forces seem to be so biased towards Muslims that they even want to distort the history but need to learn that history cannot be rewritten and it were Marathas who in May 1799 acted like collaborators with Britishers and Tipu mostly known as lion of Mysore, got martyred in the forth Anglo-Mysore war. Late Tipu had already given Britishers a befitting defeat in first three Anglo-Mysore wars. Not only famous French General Napoleon but credible and neutral historians have all the way praised Tipu for his Military skills, dedication and true secular traditions.” He added.
“BJP and its allies forget that it was renowned Muslim clerics and heroes like Bahadur Shah Zaffar and Tipu Sultan who initiated the freedom struggle and carried out mass awareness among people of the sub continent against Britishers. Had Marathas and others supported, Tipu the lion of Mysore, or even remained neutral Tipu would have deported British East India Company back and things would have been altogether different. By these pity acts these fascist forces of Sang Parivar will achieve nothing except adding to the alienation among the minorities and will strengthen the school of thought that believes Jennah’s two nation theory was need of the hour.” (KNS)
