Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Amritsar district office bearers today announced they would work shoulder to shoulder with the SAD-BJP government and pledged to unite against the nefarious conspiracies of anti-Punjab elements besides foiling all bids to divide Punjab and Punjabis.As many as 207 office bearers of the SAD urban unit including Councillors gathered here to condemn the recent incidents of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib said they would take the message of peace, amity and tranquility to grass root level to safeguard deep knitted communal concord in the state. The gathering in a single voice also announced that no one would desert the party and its cadre during this hour of crisis. 

In the presence of Welfare Minister Punjab Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Revenue Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majtihia, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Mr. Amarpal Singh Boni Ajnala, Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha, Mr. Harmeet Singh Sandhu, MLA Baljit Singh Jalal Usma, former MP Mr. Raj Mohinder Singh Majitha and  Chairman Mr. Veer Singh Lopoke, the gathering said timing of the incidents indicates that they were planned with the sole motive of disturbing the peace of the state. It recorded that Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal were working to ensure the social fabric of the State was not disturbed. 

Speaking on the occasion, SAD general secretary Mr Bikram Singh Majithia called upon Punjabis and party cadres to stay united against these inhuman acts so that peace, amity, tranquility and communal concord could be maintained. He also urged the cadre to be cautious about misleading information being sent through social media and rumour mongers in interests of peace. He also pointed out to the cadre that this was the right time to prove loyalty to the party and the State. Welfare Minister Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha, Mr. Raj Mohinder Singh Majitha and Mr. Veer Singh Lopoke also gave a call to Punjabis to foil deliberate attempts of anti-state people to shatter the hard won peace of Punjab.
