What if you visit a trendy restaurant and the answer to every query is "Yes Minister". Surprised? These words will surely be heard if you are at the multi-cuisine "Yes Minister" - where pulsating music, engaging games, innovative concoction of drinks and food greet visitors.A sports bar and kitchen, Yes Minister officially opened its doors to Delhiites last month at Essex Farms on Aurobindo Marg. The sprawling venue - the same which had been famous as a bowling alley destination for long - has now turned out as an ideal location for parties with its ample space. The proximity of the bar to the Hauz Khas Metro station is a feather in its cap." 'Yes Minister' never says 'no' to anything. You want it, and you get it. Moreover, we had many names in mind but then we decided to go with 'Yes Minister'. We wanted a name which is catchy," restaurant owner Dhruv Anand Goyle told IANS.

Catchy it sure is, thanks to the hugely popular "Yes Minister" TV series of the 1980s. But that's where the similarity ends! The entry itself is embellished and gives an impression of a British restaurant, while the ambiance and space inside are similar to a discotheque. The beige colour theme lends a luxurious feel. The distinctive feature of the place is the bar's location, as it sits in the heart of this new party destination.Yes Minister also covers a huge area where one can opt for three types of seating arrangements. Patrons wanting to sit away from pulsating music can opt to do so outside, while music freaks could sit near the DJ area, and the ones looking to get a high, can choose the distinctively elevated bar area. For lovers of gaming, the place has retained the long bowling alley while adding fun games like a rotating bull, pool tables and a coin game machine. The idea, Goyle, 26, said was "to develop a concept of 'throwback' where everyone can revisit the characteristics of their former time"."Youngsters could enjoy the bowling, pool and can try their luck in riding the bull. I had specially installed the rotating bull to add that extra fun," he said.

To cater to the growing number of audience members of high-octane and special sports events, Yes Minister has even installed five screens, including two mega size projector curtains."We tried to do it a bit different from other sports bars. Not everyone is a football or a cricket fan, so we had an idea to telecast different sports like cricket and Formula One racing simultaneously," Goyle explained. While the bartenders pulled the crowd with their mixing skills at the restaurant's launch, Yes Minister claims to give "FOODgasm" to foodies with its diverse palate of American, Asian Fusion, British, Chinese, Italian, Thai and Fast Food recipes. The kitchen serves Bacon, Lamb, prawns and pork apart from traditional chicken and mutton cuisines. There are multiple treats for the vegetarians, but personally, I was tantalised by non-vegetarian delights. The lamb pizza, especially, left our taste buds tingling. With its paper-thin crust, topped with veggies and sprinkled with finely-chopped lamb, it melted in the mouth. The kitchen also offers delectable chicken and vegetarian pizza, chicken steaks and vegetarian cheese kebabs. Indeed, the claims of "FOODgasm" are veracious! If someone asks you about the perfect place in Delhi where they can enjoy balls, booze, burgers and beats at a reasonable price, your answer should be 'Yes Minister'!
