Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI & Trainings, Ch. Lal Singh today paid surprise visit to NTPHC Harwan, Srinagar, ordering immediate reshuffle of some of the staff members, whose performance was found not satisfactory.The Minister along with Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Sumeer Mattoo, Mission Director Family Welfare, Dr Baldev, Director, NHM, Dr Mohan Singh,Drug Controller, Kashmir, Nazir Ahmad paid a surprise visit at the NTPHC, Harwan.

The Minister found that most of the doctors and paramedics were without proper hospital dress code. He said disciplinary action would be taken against the doctors and paramedics, who don’t follow the guidelines like observing proper dress code while on duty.The Minister took a round of the hospital and asked the Medical Officer and her team to work for the betterment of the healthcare institute.Mr. Singh was informed by the local people that the hospital needs further improvement and demanded upgradation of the hospital. He directed the Director, Health Services, Kashmir to inspect the hospitals on regular basis and try to fix-up the issues on priority.The Minister directed the officials that without the opinion of the Consultants, no junior doctor or medical officer should make referrals.The Ministers has been conducting on-spot inspection of various hospitals across the State.
