In a bizarre fire incident two buildings in Thathri town of Doda district got seriously damaged. The incident took place around 11:15 hrs when one building belonging to Pandit Belaram caught fire due to cooking in the Dhaba running in the building.Officers and Jawans of Rashtriya Rifles immediately rushed the spot with water bowser and fire extinguishers and controlled the fire. The fire tender of Doda district also reached the spot but developed electrical snag which was repaired by Army technicians and made operational.The houses belonging to Mr. Manzoor Ahmed Bhatt and Pandit Belaram were seriously damaged.  Patwari office of Thathri was also located in this building and land documented were feared being engulfed in the fire, these were saved by timely and daring action of Army Jawans and not a single record was lost.The timely action by Army and administration prevented spread of fire which could have aggravated in densely populated market area having contiguous buildings, No loss of life of injury has been reported.Meanwhile Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has conveyed his sympathy to aggrieved persons whose house gutted in fire incidents which led heavy loss to the property. He had also demanded immediate relief to the fire victims.
