Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon convened a high level meeting in Srinagar today in which the arrangements in view of Eid ul Azha were reviewed in detail.The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the concerned authorities to keep the sacrificial animals available at various locations in Srinagar city. These include Kaka Sarai Maidaan Pora, Eidgah, Soura, Bohri Kadal, Jamia Masjid, Hazratbal, Rainawari near Zindshah Masjid, Nishat near parking, Barzulla near Bridge, Rawalpora and Tengpora Batamalo Chowk. He said the checking squads have been formed so that the markets are monitored regularly   to prevent illegal profiteering and hoarding of essential commodities.

Dr. Asgar Samoon directed Animal Husbandry department to keep Sheep, Goats and Poultry birds available on reasonable rates and other areas of Srinagar city so that the people may not face any inconvenience.  The meeting was further informed that the concerned department will put on sale almost 35 lakh poultry birds at various sale centres in the district.The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the concerned to provide potable water, uninterrupted power supply, health and transport facilities besides proper sanitation in the city during the festival.The meeting was informed that all the arrangements in view of Eid ul Azha have been finalised.Among others, the meeting was attended by the DIG Police, Vice Chairman LAWDA, Chief Engineer of UEED, SP Srinagar, Chief Proctor Kashmir University, Additional SP Security, Deputy Commissioners of Budgam, Shopian, Kupwara, Baramulla, Srinagar, Pulwama districts, SE R&B, SDM Kokernag, Joint Controller, Legal Metrology, RTO Kashmir.
