Minister of State for Public Works (R&B) and Revenue, Sunil Sharma Thursday inaugurated the re-surfacing programme by way of macadamization on Janipur-Ambgrota road here today.MLA, Jammu West, Sat Sharma also accompanied the Minister.After inaugurating the macadamization work from Ambphalla, the Minister while addressing the people said that Government has accorded top priority to upgradation of road infrastructure in the State.The Minister said that the government was laying special emphasis on construction, upgradation and maintenance of roads in the State. He said many roads and bridges have been completed while as work on various vital links and bridges would also be taken up under PMGSY and NABARD to ensure road connectivity to left out habitation in rural areas.
The Minister said that land compensation process has also been expedited to ensure early completion of projects under various state and centrally sponsored schemes. He also asked the concerned authorities to ensure immediate macadamization of all important roads in Jammu city on a fast-track basis.The Minister also informed that the re-surfacing programme of Jammu district has been taken up at a cost of Rs 125 crore and there is a proposal of about 500 km road length for macadamization during the current financial year.Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) and concerned engineers and officers were also present on the occasion.
