Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir paid an extensive tour of various areas of Tangmarg constituency and took stock of the pace of development work under execution today. These areas include Batpora, Hard-Ishru, Haipora, Goibora, Reshpora and Khaipora.The Minister inaugurated a Health Sub Centre at Khaipora at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh. Mr. Mir met cross section of people and interacted with them about problems confronting them. The Minister directed the officers accompanying him to fulfill the demands raised by the people and redress their grievances.Reacting to basic facilities of power supply, road connectivity and welfare measures for the people, Mir assured that damaged transformers will be repaired and replaced besides taking up the construction of roads and their renovation in uncovered areas.Regarding drinking water supply, the Minister said that government has taken up huge project of extending safe drinking water to all the areas of remote villages with liberal funding by centre and state government.Referring to resent winter season and expected snowfall, the Minister said that all kinds of arrangements are in place to provide LPG, K-oil and firewood to the people and snow cutters and other equipment has been kept ready to face any eventuality during winter season.Reviewing the MGNREGA scheme in the area, the Minister was informed that Rs. 3 crore have been utilised so far and 416 works have been completed for which 8019 job cards have been issued and 82187 mandays were created.
