The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh has asked the officers to speed up various schemes undertaken by the Government for augmentation of the electric infrastructure in the State so that the people get benefitted by these.The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the implementation of Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyut Karan scheme (RGGVY).The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. B.B Vyas, Principal Secretary PDD, Mr. Sandeep Naik, Commissioner Secretary Finance, Mr. Navin K Choudhary, Director General Budget, Mr. Mohammad Isak Wani and other senior officers.

The Deputy Chief Minister while reviewing the implementation of the scheme said that the leftover works should be completed within the shortest possible time as many new schemes have been initiated by the Centre for the augmentation of the electric infrastructure in the country especially in the rural and far-flung areas. He said that the outstanding liabilities of the people concerned with providing the necessary logistic and other related supports should be cleared so that their long pending demands are met and the pace of work on the leftover part is completed as soon as possible.        

Earlier, Union Secretary for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr Rajiv Yadav called on Deputy Chief and discussed various issues related to the promotion of sports activities and upgradation of the sports infrastructure in the State.The Minister for Youth Services and Sports Molvi Imran Raza Ansari, Commissioner Secretary, Technical Education, Youth service and Sports, Mr. Hirdesh Kumar and other senior officers were also present.Dr. Singh asked the Union Secretary to make a comprehensive proposal for brining the State on the international sports map by organizing various international and national tournaments involving the sportsperson of repute. He said by doing so more youth would be actively participating in the sports activities at national and international level and bring laurels to the State.
