In the meeting held under the leadership of Dr. J.S Dhaliwal, President, Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association or PUTIA .He requested Punjab Government to release the balance amount meant for Post Matric Scholarship of Punjab. He urged Punjab Government to take up the issue with centre Government to avoid further delay. Manjit Singh, Doaba Group; Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group; Dr. Zora Singh, Desh Bhagat University; Mr. Gurvinder Singh, Rayat & Bahra Group and many Chancellors and Chairmen of different Universities & Colleges were present.

Dr. Dhaliwal, President, PUTIA said that a large number of SC students are studying in these unaided technical institutions under Post Matric scholarship scheme and Punjab Government has only released the partial payment while rest of the payment is still pending with the Central Government. Due to this the hardships are being faced by the colleges, students and parents as well.Senior Vice President, PUTIA, Sh. Manjit Singh (Doaba Group)said at the occasion that more than 400 unaided technical institutions of Punjab and students are facing hardship due to delay in the release of funds. Hundreds of well-established technical institutions of Punjab are facing financial crisis and are on the verge of closure due to the delay in release of scholarship funds. 

Vice President, PUTIA, Dr. Anshu Kataria said that over 245 Crores is due towards Punjab Government against Post Matric Scholarship. Because of the non-payment there is resentment among around 400 Unaided Technical Institutions of Punjab.Mr Gurvinder Singh, Bahra Rayat Bahra; Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Baba Farid (Bathinda); H.P.S. Kanda, Quest Group(Jhanjheri), Manav Dhawan, Punjab Group of Colleges(Lalru), CA Renu Arora, Swami Parmanand(Lalru) were also present on the occasion.At the moment representatives from Sviet (Banur), Gurukul (Banur), Sri Sukhjindra (Gurdaspur), ISF (Moga), Jasdev Sandhu (Patiala), Desh Bhagat (Moga) were also present.
