DC Kulgam kick starts 3-day FMR training programme

Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Syed Aabid Rasheed Shah today kick started a 3-day First Aid/First Medical Responders (FMR) training programme organized by the Indian Red Cross Society J&K chapter here at Degree College Kulgam.The aim of the training programme is to hone the skills of the students in the basic life support techniques that are necessary at the time of medical emergency and creation of pool of medical respondents that will serve their localities at the time of disaster like situations in future.

The Deputy Commissioner while addressing the students said that due to vulnerability of district to natural calamities like flash floods and landslides, it becomes duty of every student to be equipped with basic life saving techniques which might save lives at critical times.The first batch of 71 students was trained by the experts of various departments of the district.Chief Medical Officer Kulgam, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Kulgam, Principal Degree College Kulgam and various experts from the field of medicine and disaster management were also present on the occasion.
