Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, Shantmanu today held a Video Conference with District Election Officers (DEOs) of Kashmir Division including Leh and Kargil districts.The CEO sought status and action plan for special summary revision of electoral rolls with qualifying date as 1st January, 2016. He also enquired about MIS report of respective districts, strengthening of the offices of District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers, public grievance redressal, training and related issues besides the issue of election expenditure, monitoring and election expenses of Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections-2014.

The issue of physical verification of EVMs, EVM tracking Software and status of preparation of Municipal Electoral Rolls 2015 was also discussed with the concerned District Election Officers (Deputy Commissioners) through video conferencing.The CEO said that the exercise was done on the instructions of the Election Commissioner of India. He further said as per the directions of Supreme Court, collection of Adhaar Card is suspended to avoid duplicity.Mr. Shantmanu appreciated all the DEOs for the outstanding job related to election process. He directed them to submit all related documents in time in the office of CEO.Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, J&K Mr. Rishpal Singh, Addl. SIO, J&K (NIC) Mr. Saleem Khan and other senior officers were present during the video conferencing.
