CBI files seven fresh FIRs in Vyapam scam

The CBI on Thursday registered seven new FIRs in connection with its ongoing probe into the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh.The first FIR was registered against one accused and other unidentified people on charges of illegalities committed in the Police Constable Recruitment Test 2012.The second First Information Report (FIR) was registered against one accused on the charge of cheating by impersonation in the Police Constable Recruitment Test 2013 conducted by Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (Vyapam), or the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB).The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the third case against 25 accused regarding alleged illegalities in the Police Constable Recruitment Test 2012.The fourth case was registered against 12 people for cheating by impersonation in Jail Prahari Recruitment Test 2012 while the fifth case was lodged against 12 accused relating to alleged illegalities committed in the Pre-Medical Test 2009 conducted by Vyapam.

The sixth case was registered against nine people in the Forest Guard Examination 2012 and the seventh FIR named 17 accused for cheating by impersonation in the Police Constable Test 2013.The FIRs were registered for cheating, criminal conspiracy and under the Information Technology Act, Prevention of Corruption Act and the Madhya Pradesh Recognised Examination Act.The CBI has already registered 45 FIRs and launched 11 preliminary inquiries into the Vyapam scam.The Supreme Court on July 9 handed over the Vyapam cases to the central probe agency. Over 40 people linked with the scam have died under mysterious circumstances or committed suicide.
