The present Coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed to provide quality health care to the patients for which developing best possible infrastructure is a priority.This was stated by Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Ms. Asiya Naqash during her visit to Sub District Hospital Bijbehera, Community health centre Zainapora, Shopian and Primary Health Centre, Awantipora today. She reviewed their functioning  and took stock of basic medical facilities being provided to patients by the Government.MLA Wachi, Mr. Ajaz Mir accompanied the Minister during this visit. The Minister interacted with patients and their attendants and also inspected surgical wards and general wards and gynae wards, laboratories and other investigation units.

During her visit she asked the hospital administration to equip the hospitals with latest diagnostic facilities and other equipments and ensure to provide better medicare facilities to the patients.She directed hospital administrations to display the list of available medicines in the health centres outside the hospital premises for information of the general public. She directed the doctors and paramedical staff to maintain good relationship with the patients and attendants.During her visit, locals of the areas including social welfare committees, Panchs and Sarpanchs demanded adequate medical facilities in the health centres and posting of doctors and paramedical staff especially Paediatricians, Anaesthetist, physician specialist, genealogist and assistant surgeons. They also requested for completion of works on doctors and paramedical staff residential quarters and blood bank. They also requested uninterrupted electricity supply to the health centres.On the occasion, the officers of the Health Department briefed the Minister about the facilities being given to the patients during their hospitalization.

Ms. Asiya Naqash assured the delegations that their genuine demands will be addressed and the posting of doctors and paramedical staff will be done very soon on fast track basis.Later, the Minister convened a district officers meeting at Shopian and threadbare discussion was held. She directed the health authorities to implement the directions given to them in the district board meetings in letter and spirits. She also asked them to maintain dress code during their duties, discipline and cleanliness in the wards and corridors and maintain proper sanitation in and around the hospital.The Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Director Health Services Kashmir, Deputy Director Health Services, CMO and other senior officers of the health department.
