DDC for enforcing ban on polythene bags in Samba

To ensure strict enforcement of ban on use of polythene carry bags in Samba district, the District Development Commissioner, Samba, R. K Varma convened an officers meet here today.Emphasizing strict vigil on entry points of all four towns of Samba which is Samba, Vijaypur, Ramgarh and Bari Brahamna, the DDC directed the police and traffic authorities to accelerate frisking of vehicles mainly at these points.

Regarding use of polythene carry bags in markets, Varma asked the executive officers of Municipal Committees to regularly check the shops and warn the traders to desist from using these or face action as under law. Similarly Tehsildars were also directed to enforce the provision of law regarding the Ban on the use of Polythene Carry Bags.All the agencies were directed to submit their report by the 5th of every succeeding   month so that the compliance report/status is filed in the High Court in PIL no. OWPNO159/2002.Among others AC(R) Samba, M.Y Malik, DySP Traffic, N.Tehsildars and Executive officers of the Municipal Committees were also present in the meeting.
