A meeting to discuss arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day 2015was convened here under the Chairmanship of DDC Samba, Sheetal Nanda.In the meeting it was decided that Independence Day celebrations shall be held at Sports Stadium, Samba. It was informed that during the celebrations, the chief guest shall take salute from contingents drawn from police, Ex -Servicemen, NCC, school students etc. Cultural programme based on patriotic theme will also be presented on the occasion.DDC constituted various committees and asked them to work in synergy to make arrangements for the day. DDC directed all the officers to make best efforts to make all arrangements for the celebrations and further discussed in detail, the arrangements related to barricading, seating, sanitation, security & traffic, power, water, fire tenders etc. DDC also directed the committees concerned to make necessary and befitting arrangements for the gallantry award winners, Ex-Serviceman, press, prominent citizens and general public.She impressed upon the cultural committee to select cultural items based on patriotic theme to mark the occasion.DDC directed Municipal Committee Samba to maintain sanitation at the venue and in the town during the celebrations.Among others, ADC Pawan Sharma, ADDC Samba, Vivek Sharma, SDM Ghagwal, SDM Vijaypur, ACR, ACD, besides the officers of police and other various departments were present in the meeting.
