The Deputy Commissioner Baramulla has ordered that all offices falling in the jurisdiction of Baramulla district shall remain open on July 15 and 17, 2015 (holidays) for the convenience of general masses.A Control Room has also been set up in the office of Deputy Commissioner with the representatives of various departments including Revenue, PHE, Power, R&B, CA&PD, Irrigation & Flood Control, Municipal Committees and Medical Education for redressing the grievances of public. It was informed that entire quantity of rice for the month of July 2015 has been supplied to the consumers, sugar including additional quota of 2 Kgs per family is being supplied to the consumers against ration tickets and the same shall be completed before Eid.
The meeting was further told that all arrangements for observance of Shab-i-Qadr and for the congregational prayers on Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr have been made.The repairs of the approach roads to the Eidgahs, Jamia Mosques and cleanliness around the venues are being carried out so that people do not face any inconvenience.The PDD and PHE department have asked to provide uninterrupted power and water supply to the people. The Deputy Commissioner has also directed all SDMs, SDPOs, Tehsildars and SHOs to keep an eye on the markets and ensure availability of all essential commodities on reasonable rates. He directed that regular market checking on day to day basis shall be carried out in all the markets to keep the prices under control.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress under Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan which aims at to provide toilet facilities to the Government schools. It was given out in the meeting that out of 1455 Government schools in the district, 1323 schools have already been provided the toilet facilities, whileas the construction of toilets is in progress in 128 schools which shall be completed by July 20, 2015.
