Minister for Health and Medical Education Department, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh today called upon the people of the Jammu and Kashmir to take part in large numbers in the    International Yoga movement initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Talking to reporters here today, the Minister said that the Yoga Day is being observed on 21 June internationally which is a great honour for India. Director General Indian System of Medicines Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Director Family Welfare Dr. Baldev Sharma and Joint Director Information Mr. Nagendra Singh Jamwal were also present on the occasion.The Minister said that it is a matter of great pride for every Indian that the United Nations Organisation, by an unanimous resolution supported by 177 countries in agreement with the views and appeals of the Prime Minister of India, declared 21 June as the International Yoga Day.

Appealing to the people to participate in the Yoga Day and start a healthier lifestyle, Ch Lal Singh said that Yoga is truly an invaluable gift of the ancient Indian tradition. "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.“It is not merely about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness within yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day” Lal Singh asserted.The Minister, who will himself be participating in the International Yoga Day celebration in Gulshan Ground from 6 a.m. on June 21, said that today life when stress and health related problems are increasing, Yoga is the only ray of hope for facing the enormous challenges.
