Three Indian-origin students were among the seven people from Singapore who were killed on Malaysia's Mount Kinabalu, following a 5.9-magnitude earthquake that hit Sabah state on Friday, Singapore's education ministry said on Sunday.The seven people were five students -- Sonia Jhala, Ameer Ryyan bin Mohd Adeed Sanjay, Emilie Giovanna Ramu, Matahom Karyl Mitzi Higuit, Rachel Ho Yann Shiuan - teacher Loo Jian Liang Terrence Sebastian, and Singaporean adventure guide Muhammad Daanish bin Amran, Channel News Asia reported.

The students and the teacher were from Tanjong Katong Primary School.On Saturday, the body of a schoolgirl, Peony Wee, was identified. A total of eight bodies of Singaporeans have been identified by their next-of-kin.Operations are continuing to locate the remaining student, Navdeep Singh Jaryal, son of Raj Kumar, and the remaining teacher, Mohammad Ghazi Bin Mohamed, the ministry said.According to sources, most people on the mountain when the quake hit were Malaysian but that they also included hikers from Singapore, the US, the Philippines, Britain, Thailand, Turkey, China and Japan.Twenty-nine students and eight teachers of Tanjong Katong Primary School were on a school trip to Kota Kinabalu, the capital city of Sabah, when the earthquake struck.Nineteen people are still unaccounted for.
