Bharatiya Janata Party has extended its membership drive across the country for a month. The membership enrollment campaign which was to end on March 31 would now continue till April 30.BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh said that the decision has been taken after assessing the overwhelming response.People of the country have displayed extreme faith in the programmes and policies of the BJP and the BJP 's  sh Narinder Modi led government in the centre. So much so that with 8.9 crore members the BJP has already achieved distinction of being the largest political party of the world.Though the response in the entire country has been far more than expected, some prominent states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Assam, Tripura, Punjab and Paschim Bengal could not participate to the fullest due to Municipal Corporation and Nagar Panchayhat elections.  Haryana, Jharkhand and Delhi units also got busy in state assembly elections. By-elections in some states also affected the membership campaign.

The decision to extend the membership campaign has been taken on the insistence of sympathisers and supporters and on the request of party leaders and volunteers.Party president sh Amit Shah, Organising Secretary sh Ram Lal and Dr. Dinesh Sharma, the national membership drive campaign incharge have approved to extend the membership drive by a month. We hope that the party leaders and volunteers would ensure enrollment of people who are appreciative of the policies and programmes initiated by the Hon'ble prime minister Sh  Narendra Modi and wish to contribute actively in the process of development and nation building being actively led by the prime minister himself.
