Expansion of education network in far-flung areas, besides development of infrastructure and extending quality education is the first priority of the present coalition Government and every possible step is being taken to take the benefits of the state and central run programmes to the needyThis was stated by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand while addressing one day educational conference ‘ALOV’ organised by Directorate of School Education at Dooru Anantnag. While revealing the details in the education sector during the yester years Minister said that nine thousand promotions in various cadres have been made besides referring about 11000 vacant posts to recruiting agencies like SSRB and PSC which are likely to be filled in near future. Minister further said that to provide adequate staff to far-flung located educational institutions, recruiting local un-employed youths on ReT pattern is being adopted.

Terming education as panacea for social and economic development, the Minister urged the teaching community to work with dedication and zeal and teach the students with affection and care.Minister also revealed the new education policy is being framed by the Government for the purpose of which a committee comprising of experts has been constituted. This policy will cater to the needs of all the three regions of the State. A committee under the chairmanship of retired Justice Mr. Bilal Nazki has also been constituted for recommending the measures of regulating the Fee structure of private educational institutions, the Minister added.Mr  Tara Chand also revealed that Right to Education Act passed by union parliament will be taken to state legislative assembly for its implementation in J&K also so that nothing remains outside the ambit of education. Minister said that School Education Board Act will also be amended in near future so that the necessary required changes are incorporated in it.Earlier, Minister for Tourism and MLA Dooru, Mr. G. A. Mir also spoke on the occasion and requested the education Minister for up- gradation of schools in the constituency under RMSA. DDC Anantnag Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Director School Education Kashmir and Chief Education Officer, Anantnag also spoke in the conference. Students in thousands, teachers, principals, Panches, Sarpanches, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, and senior citizens besides others also attended the conference.
