Underlining the hardships faced by people in day to life due to lackadaisical attitude of the government, former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said that due to ineffective and poor delivery of administration at the ground level common public has to bear day to day harassment. He said people living in border and far-off belts are facing huge administrative deficit.  "The ruling BJP should stop rhetoric and come clear on issues of Article 370, equalizing assembly constituencies in Kashmir and Jammu along with issue of PRC for West Pakistan refugees," he added. He said that people living alongside International Border are the worst sufferers and the government should allot plots at safer areas along with financial help of Rs 10 lacs for house construction, adding that RBA status should be extended to these people.Tara Chand was addressing one day long party convention at Halqa Marh.

The largely attended party convention was organized by Ex-MLA and General Secretary Balwan Singh Manhas to project the problems and issues faced by the common public of the area.Former Ministers and Vice presidents JKPCC Mula Ram, Former Minister and General Secretary Manohar Lal Sharma were also present in the rally.Asking the government to give due benefit to reserved category employees, Tara Chand said that reservation in promotion is genuine right of the employees and the government has made wrong interpretation of stay of Hon'ble Supreme Court on promotion to SC/ST employees, inspite of the fact that the Supreme Court has already stayed the J&K High Court's order for denial of reservation in promotion.Raising the issues pointed by the Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, former Deputy Chief Minister Chand said that post demonetization very relevant questions have been asked from the BJP led government and five points raised bring to fore the ill conceived drive launched by the Prime Minister.

He said that the five questions of amount of recovery after demonetisation, economic loss to the nation, number of lives lost due to demonetization, ignoring consultation of top economists of the country and names of those who had deposited large amounts in accounts preceding demonetization are the key points which are haunting the government. He said that problems and issues of public would be openly discussed so that the present dispensation wakes up from the slumber of inactivity and people come to know about the reality of fake promises which were made to the people of the state.Tara Chand said that poor people are going through tough times due to indifferent attitude of the government as the quota of ration and other essential commodities is being denied to them. He said soaring prices have made the life of people extremely difficult and the government should immediately ensure that people get their share of ration.

He said village oriented program of MGNREGA started by the Congress party has also been completely ignored and people are not getting the rightful employment guarantee ensured in the Act, adding that the government should enhance the rates under the act and ensure that if employment is not given then 100 days wages are paid to the poor people. He said that poor farmers of the region are being harassed by the revenue authorities and notices are being sent to lakhs of poor tillers for vacation of land, adding that the interest of poor tillers must be watched at all costs and the government should immediately take back the unjustified notices. He called upon party cadres to prepare for Panchayat Elections and lambasted the government for playing with the real spirit of 73rd amendment and local self government concept.Mula Ram and Manohar Lal Sharma also addressed the convention and highlighted the issues pertaining to common masses.
