National Conference Friday organized the annual ceremony to observe the birth anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah at Qaid Mazaar in Hazratbal, Srinagar and paid glorious tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir on this occasion. Highlighting the sacrifices rendered by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah for upholding the political rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference pledged to take forward Sheikh’s mission of striving for the dignity of the people of this State. Floral tributes were paid to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah following Fateha Khwaani that was held at his mausoleum in the presence of Senior Party Leaders and hundreds of workers and supporters.

Speaking on the occasion, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said that Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah spend twenty-three years of his life in prison for demanding justice for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and for striving to safeguard their political aspirations and that today Sheikh Sahib’s sacrifices and dreams stand in stark opposition to BJP’s diatribe and vitriol towards the people of Kashmir. “We pledge to live and die by Sher-e-Kashmir’s ideals and dreams and every single worker of National Conference will shed the last drop of blood in his body before allowing BJP to fragment our State, humiliate us and demean our political inpiduality. Article 370 is the gift of Sher-e-Kashmir to the people of this State and we will never allow any power on this earth to touch Article 370” Sagar said.

Senior NC leader Mubarak Gul while addressing the gathering in Hazratbal said that National Conference was a sacred repository of sacrifices rendered by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and his followers to uphold the political dignity of our people and that National Conference would never shy away from rendering even more sacrifices for the cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.Among other party leaders who addressed the gathering in Hazratbal and paid glorious tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah were Mohammad Syed Akhoon, Irfan Shah, Mohammad Yaseen Shah and Peer Mohammad Afaq.
