R&B Minister Abdul Majid Wani continued his journey to reach far flung areas in Doda constituency, today, addressed a number of public rallies in village Manjote, Korlla, Cherrote, Chillivan, Bhakhna Brarnni, Shapan and Jodhpur.In a remarkable development, today, hundreds of old & staunch workers of National Conference and BJP joined congress party at village Shapan and Bhakhna Brarnni of block Gundna in Doda constituency. Abdul Latief Butt, Khurshid Ahmed Wani, Ab. Rehman Butt, Nissar Amad Butt & ten others from Zalla Cherrote, Ghulam Hassan Butt from Chillivan alongwith his ten supporters, Gian Chand Sharma from Kamlahri, Naib Chand, Sanjay Sharma along with two dozen of his supporters from Korrla, Raj Kumar from Phalshorr alongwith six supporters, Mohd. Skaif Shah, Ab Qyum Shah along with dozen of supporters, Karim Bakash, Bashir Ahmad, Jamal Din, Joginder, Sobha Ram and Sanjay Kumar from Bakhna Brarnni joined congress party, today. On their joining in Congress party, they said that they, all, have decided to join Congress party after reviewing performance of Abdul Majid Wani as MLA from Doda constituency since year 2002.
The collective performance/ achievements of all MLAs. who represented Doda constituency between the period from 1950 till 2002, have no comparison with the remarkable growth & development of Doda constituency, witnessed by people during twelve years i.e. from year 2002 till 2014, the period for which Doda constituency has been represented by Abdul Majid Wani. They, all, appreciated day and night efforts put in by Abdul Majid Wani in ameliorating miseries and sufferings of poor people, especially those living in far flung rural areas without any prejudice. And, he has always treated people equitably rising far above politics of any party, group or religion. Doda constituency has witnessed fresh air of peace, freedom and people's empowerment; People otherwise, before year 2002, were not allowed to even raise their voice; their voices always got choked through by use of force whether by militants or by those sitting in corridors of power.
Welcoming scores of National Conference and BJP workers in Congress Party fold, Majid Wani said that throughout his life he has been open & receptive to people from each & every section of society. He, always, treated them equally and it has been his utmost duty in life to work for uplifting of down trodden people and raise standard of living of people of Doda constituency so as to bring them at par with their counter parts living in capital cities of J&K state. He left no opportunity to project their needs and demands in all platforms of the state as well as before Government of India. In future also till his last breath, he shall keep on working for improving lives of people of Doda. He asked them to cast their votes in his favour so as to send him through J&K Legislative Assembly, third time also.
