Addressing a public rallies at village Manjimi, Bemina, Thanote, Maichhar and Bhagwah in Doda constituency, today, R&B Minister Abdul Majid Wani said that he dedicated whole of his life for uplifting down trodden masses living especially in far flung and remote areas of Doda constituency. He has fought a continuous fight since year 2000 for making poor masses of Doda constituency living in far flung rural & backward areas the proud citizens like their counterparts living in other parts of the country. Today, these people are fully empowered and living a life full of pride and dignity. In fact, people of Doda constituency have witnessed a revolution during last one decade with opening of a medical college, trauma hospital, new district hospital building, sports stadium, new degree colleges, a number of new higher secondary schools and hundreds of new primary schools opened up during this period. With commissioning of a number of major water supply schemes, people getting safe & hygienic drinking water, new ration stores have been opened up even in far flung areas. The whole constituency, today, is connected through a network of roads and bridges.
Majid Wani said, "My heart beats for people of Chenab Valley especially Doda constituency and I shall keep on working for them the day and night till my last breath. The time has come, once again, when the people of Doda have to take a decision whether to continue with journey of growth and development or to fall prey to certain communal and fascist forces who believe in selling dreams only to befool people on religious lines. Many years back, these forces had befooled people of whole country on the pretext of constructing Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Sometimes, they try to cash on communal riots and sometimes they try to create tension among different communities on Amarnath land row. These parties are deep enemies of whole Chenab Valley which otherwise is on right track of growth and development. Our coming generations have every right to get best of the infrastructural facilities; they won't forgive us if we remained entrapped through vicious designs of these communal and fascist forces".
Majid Wani further said that people of Doda have witnessed a golden era during last one decade. It has been our resolve to develop Doda constituency as a model constituency with best state of the art infrastructural facilities; I had been successful in bringing Doda constituency to the limelight with respect to growth and development. Now, my next mission is to develop Doda constituency as one of the best tourist destinations all over the world. Plans have already been drawn in this direction only implementation part is remaining. I have vision to attract heavy investment in Doda constituency for developing tourist infrastructure as well as heavy industries so as generate vast employment opportunities. Among others, Sarpanch Kartar Singh Chowhan, Najib-ur-Rehman Fani, Irshad Sahmad Misger, Engineer Vishal Bhagat, Aadil Karim Wani, Aamir Wani, Advocate Sheraz Aslam, Suraj Parkash, Ranjit Singh Sarpanch, Sagar Singh, Hakim Manzur, Wasim Raja, Abdul Latief, Hakim Singh, Dharam Singh also addressed these public rallies and asked people to vote in favour of Abdul Majid Wani so as to continue with journey of growth, development and prosperity in Doda.
