The trainees from Industrial Training Institutes of Himachal Pradesh gained insights into the operations of the small water bottling plant, Rakhat chocolate factory and green market in Almaty, Kazakhstan, as part of an international exposure visit. Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, who is leading the trainees, said the state government was committed to provide young people with opportunities to gain first-hand exposure to world-class technical education, advanced industries, research, innovation and international workplace practices.

He said such programmes help trainees strengthen their technical skills while developing leadership qualities, professionalism, innovation and a global outlook. He also presented participation certificates to 30 trainees from HP Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) who successfully completed the international exposure programme during the valedictory ceremony held at Almaty Management University.

He said that as part of the programme, the trainees participated in a series of academic sessions at Almaty Management University. Experts delivered lectures on the global economy, monetary policy, cross-cultural communication, professional ethics, sustainable engineering, Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing and green technologies.

The sessions also highlighted the importance of effective communication, teamwork, leadership and sustainable industrial development in today's global workplace. The Minister said that during the exposure visit, the trainees toured the Samal Water Bottling Plant, where they observed modern water purification systems, automated bottle manufacturing, packaging processes, quality control and food safety standards.

At the Rakhat chocolate factory, they gained practical insight into large-scale food processing, chocolate manufacturing, packaging and quality management. He said that the group also visited Almaty's green market, where they studied local agricultural produce, handicrafts, traditional food products and market management practices, gaining valuable insights into the local economy and entrepreneurship.

They also visited a man-made lake to observe urban planning, environmental conservation, water resource management and the maintenance of public tourist facilities. Sh. Dharmani said that the trainees also explored the Shymbulak mountain resort and its cable car system.

They received detailed information on operational procedures, control systems, international safety standards, routine maintenance, emergency preparedness and passenger safety measures. He said that throughout the programme, the trainees interacted with leading academicians from Kazakhstan, who shared knowledge on higher education, biotechnology, research and innovation, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital technologies, food processing and sustainable industrial development.

Rajesh Dharmani said the experience gained during the visit would help trainees become skilled technicians, responsible professionals and future entrepreneurs capable of meeting the demands of modern industries. He said that Almaty Management University and the Himachal Pradesh delegation were commitment to strengthening future collaboration in technical education, skill development, research and academic exchange between India and Kazakhstan.

The trainees also visited Elina Group's modern industrial facility in Almaty, where they learnt about the manufacturing of construction materials, dry-mix mortars, paints and coatings. They were introduced to automated production systems, quality testing, packaging, research and development, industrial safety, environmental protection and efficient resource management.
