Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited (BSE: 543412 | NSE: STARHEALTH), India’s leading standalone health insurance company, is strengthening preventive healthcare awareness across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana through an ongoing mega health camp initiative.

As the company marks 20 years of serving customers, the outreach is part of its awareness-building activities in the state to encourage regular health check-ups, early detection and timely medical guidance. Preventive health check-ups have become increasingly important as India continues to face a significant burden of lifestyle-linked and non-communicable diseases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, over 42 crore individuals across the country have been screened for hypertension, leading to the diagnosis of more than 7.3 crore cases. Similarly, over 42 crore people have undergone diabetes screening, with nearly 5 crore diagnosed.

This highlights the critical role of regular screenings, early diagnosis and timely medical guidance in improving preventive healthcare outcomes, especially in regional markets where awareness and access remain key to timely intervention.

Building on this need, Star Health’s ongoing mega health camp initiative in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana has reached nearly 5,000 beneficiaries and counting across Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Eluru, Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad & Khammam.

The camps are being organised across multiple community touchpoints including Star Health offices, schools, colleges and other outreach locations, enabling people across key regional markets to access preventive screenings and basic health consultations in a familiar and convenient environment.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Srinivas KBB, Business Head, Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited, said, “As Star Health commemorates 20 years of serving customers, our focus is to strengthen awareness around prevention and early action across the communities we serve.

Through our ongoing mega health camp initiative in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, we are bringing essential screenings, consultations and health awareness closer to people across offices, educational institutions and community locations. The strong participation across cities reflects the growing need for accessible preventive healthcare support in regional markets.

At Star Health, our commitment goes beyond insurance, and we remain focused on enabling early intervention and supporting healthier communities. Additionally, General public can use the Star Health Customer App to book a free 24/7 Virtual Doctor Consultation, where early medical advice can make a meaningful difference, especially during the monsoon season.”

The health camps offer a wide range of services including BMI assessment, diabetes screening, hypertension check-up, ECG, lipid profile testing, ophthalmology consultation and dental consultation. The initiative is being conducted in association with reputed healthcare partners including Medicover, Max Vision, Clove Dental, Yashoda, Srikara, KIMS and Archana Hospitals & Ananda Institute and Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital & Research Institute.

Star Health’s community health outreach in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana reflects its broader 20-year commitment to supporting communities beyond insurance. Alongside its ongoing mega health camp initiative, the company is strengthening access to community-level healthcare through its Arogya Seva Kendra (ASK) Clinics, a CSR initiative focused on preventive and primary healthcare services for underserved communities.

In Andhra Pradesh, ASK Clinics are present in Visakhapatnam and Kurnool, while in Telangana, they are operational in Khammam, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Mahabubnagar. Together, the mega health camps and ASK Clinics reinforce Star Health’s focus on improving preventive healthcare awareness, supporting early detection and enabling better long-term health outcomes.

ASK Clinics provide free consultations, basic diagnostics, NCD screening, medicines, counselling and vaccination support, creating accessible healthcare touchpoints for communities that need them the most. Complementing these efforts, the Star Health Customer App further extends access to care by enabling the general public to avail free 24/7 Virtual Doctor Consultations, where Users can easily register on the app and connect with experienced doctors across specialties for common seasonal health concerns, including monsoon-related symptoms.
