Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Kumar Abhishek, today chaired a review meeting of the Department of AYUSH to assess the implementation of the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) and evaluate the functioning of AYUSH healthcare institutions across the district.
During the meeting, District Nodal Officer, AYUSH Reasi, Dr. Kamal Kishore Dubey presented an overview of the department’s achievements, healthcare interventions, infrastructure development initiatives and public health activities being carried out across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner was informed that all Government AYUSH dispensaries in the district have been upgraded into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. The department continues to provide quality Ayurvedic and Unani healthcare services through its network of health institutions, ensuring wider access to traditional systems of medicine for the public.
Reviewing the status of ongoing and proposed infrastructure development projects under the Department of AYUSH, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for strengthening healthcare facilities and expanding wellness services across the district. He also discussed the requirement of adequate human resources in AYUSH institutions and underscored the importance of ensuring uninterrupted healthcare delivery.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure the regular availability and deployment of Pharmacists and Medical Officers at all AYUSH health facilities. He further instructed the department to conduct a comprehensive assessment of staffing requirements and take necessary measures to address any manpower gaps in a timely manner.
To further enhance AYUSH healthcare services, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Reasi, to identify and provide suitable space within the hospital premises for the establishment of an AYUSH Centre. ACD Mukesh Sharma, Medical Superintendent Dr. Karamveer Singh, XEN Jal Shakti and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
