Ahead of the monsoon season, Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab has launched a ground-level assessment of flood preparedness across vulnerable districts to evaluate the state administration’s readiness and review relief and prevention measures in flood-prone areas. In this regard, S. Kewal Singh Dhillon, President, BJP Punjab, has appointed senior party leaders to visit the districts affected by last year’s floods.

During these visits, the respective District Presidents will accompany them and take them to the areas that were most severely affected. The senior leaders appointed for these visits include Sh. Ashwani Sharma for Gurdaspur, Sh. Fatehjang Singh Bajwa for Amritsar, Sh. Shwait Malik for Pathankot, Sh. Surjit Jyani for Ferozepur, Sh. Sunil Jakhar for Fazilka, Sh. Sushil Rinku for Abohar, Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna for Jalandhar, Sh. Jangi Lal Mahajan for Hoshiarpur, Sh. Vijay Sampla Ji for Rupnagar, and Sh. Iqbal Singh Lalpura for S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali).

The visiting leaders will interact with affected families and local residents to gather first-hand information regarding flood-related challenges, relief measures, and rehabilitation efforts. They will also submit detailed reports to the party leadership highlighting local concerns and any shortcomings in preparedness.

BJP Punjab remains committed to standing with the people of Punjab in every hour of need and will continue to raise issues concerning public safety, disaster management, and timely relief for affected families.
