Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party President Kewal Singh Dhillon welcomed the historic VB-G RAM G (Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission) Act, introduced by the Central Government to replace MGNREGA, and said that this law, set to come into force across the country from July 1, will prove to be a revolutionary step in improving the welfare and standard of living of millions of workers across India.

Highlighting the benefits of the new law, the state president said that this is not merely a change in name, but a real guarantee of workers’ rights. The law will ensure complete transparency and a corruption-free system, thereby eliminating the scams and fraudulent practices that existed under the previous arrangement.

Workers’ rightful earnings will now be transferred directly into their bank accounts without any middlemen. In addition, delays in wage payments will be strictly eliminated under the new law, ensuring timely direct payments.

This mission is not limited to providing daily wages; it also guarantees livelihood security and aims to make workers economically and socially self-reliant. Dhillon further said that Narendra Modi’s vision is to make India a developed nation, but a “Viksit Bharat” cannot become a reality until the country’s labour force becomes strong and prosperous.

He described the law as a major and meaningful initiative by the Central Government to bring the most backward and hardworking sections of society into the mainstream of development. Targeting the Punjab government led by Aam Aadmi Party, Kewal Singh Dhillon said that the AAP government has emerged as the biggest enemy of Punjab’s poor and labourers.

Earlier, at the behest of Arvind Kejriwal, the government led by Bhagwant Mann passed a special resolution in the Assembly opposing and rejecting this public welfare scheme of the Centre for political reasons, exposing AAP’s anti-worker mindset. However, when Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann realized that Punjab’s workers could not sustain themselves without this central scheme and that his government would face massive public anger, the state quietly implemented it through the back door.

He questioned that if this law was truly against workers’ interests, why is the Punjab government now implementing it through the back door? Dhillon said this double standard of the AAP government proves that it has no real concern for Punjab’s development or the livelihood of workers.

According to him, AAP is only interested in blindly opposing every good initiative of the Centre for political gains. The BJP president appealed to Punjab’s workers to understand the lies and political theatrics of the AAP government and to take maximum benefit from this historic law from July 1 onward.
