The District Rent Assessment Committee, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, today approved 17 rent assessment cases pertaining to various government departments.

The approved cases included offices under the Rural Development Department (RDD), Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), Education, Social Welfare, Health, ISM Ayush, Sheep and Wool Development, State Finance Corporation (SFC), Cooperative, Handicrafts and Fisheries Departments and 7 Assam Rifles.

The Committee deliberated on the fixation of rent for government offices functioning from private buildings across the district. The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers concerned to ensure timely disbursement of rent to landowners and building owners while safeguarding government-rented properties.

He stressed that rent payments must be released only after proper verification of records. Among those present were PO ICDS Kishtwar Rishi Kumar Sharma, CDPO Kishtwar Rahida Lone, CMO Kishtwar Dr Sanjay Bhat, DSHO Kishtwar Dr Jamil Nasir, DNO Ayush Kishtwar Dr Vikram Singh Jamwal and Dy CEO Kishtwar Masood Ahmed Qazi, besides other senior officers and officials of the departments concerned.
