The All J&K Megh Sabha celebrated the 629th Prakash Divas of Kabir Sahib with religious fervour and social harmony at Old Rehari, Jammu. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the Megh community, social workers, scholars, youth, and representatives of various social and religious organisations.

MLA Jammu East, Yudhvir Sethi, who attended the function as the Chief Guest, paid rich tributes to Kabir Sahib and highlighted his timeless teachings of equality, communal harmony, truth, and universal brotherhood. Addressing the gathering, Sethi lauded the efforts of the All J&K Megh Sabha in preserving the spiritual and social legacy of the great saint.

On the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi announced Rs 25 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the construction of a community hall, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the community. He said the facility would serve as a common platform for religious, cultural, educational, and social activities, benefiting people from all sections of society.

"The teachings of Kabir Sahib continue to inspire humanity to rise above divisions of caste, creed and religion. His message of peace, equality and social justice remains as relevant today as ever. The construction of a community hall will strengthen social cohesion and provide a dedicated space for community welfare activities," Sethi said.

Earlier, Narinder Datt, President of the All J&K Megh Sabha, welcomed the dignitaries and stressed the importance of celebrating the Prakash Divas under one umbrella to promote unity within the community. He appealed to all stakeholders, intellectuals, social workers, scholars, retired officials, youngsters, and heads of various organisations to continue working collectively for the welfare and upliftment of society.

BJP General Secretary Jammu District Suneet Raina, and Jammu District Spokesperson Raman Sharma also addressed the gathering, appreciating the Sabha's efforts in promoting the teachings of Kabir Sahib and fostering social unity. They congratulated the organisers for successfully hosting the event and reiterated their commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at community development.

Several prominent members of the Sabha, including Surinder Bhagat, Vice-President Rajinder Bhagat, and other office-bearers and social activists, were present on the occasion. The speakers unanimously called upon the younger generation to follow the ideals of Kabir Sahib and contribute towards building a society based on equality, compassion, and mutual respect.

The programme concluded with devotional hymns, cultural presentations, and a vote of thanks, reaffirming the community's resolve to preserve the rich spiritual heritage and teachings of Kabir Sahib for future generations.
