Reinforcing one of the largest private environmental commitments made to Bengaluru, Prestige Group has adopted 1.25 lakh native saplings under the Government of Karnataka and Bengaluru Development Authority’s Bengaluru Urban Ecological Restoration Mission.

Prestige Supports Karnataka Government’s 15 lakh native tree mission

The Group has undertaken responsibility for nurturing and maintaining the saplings over the next three years across 25 acres near Challaghatta, ensuring the initiative delivers a lasting ecological impact rather than merely increasing the number of plantations.

Commenting on the initiative, Irfan Razack, Chairman & Managing Director, Prestige Group, said, “Bengaluru has given Prestige its identity for nearly four decades. As we continue to shape the city’s skyline, we believe we have an equal responsibility to strengthen its ecological future.

Prestige Green Promise is not merely a tree plantation programme- it is a long-term commitment to restore Bengaluru’s green heritage. By adopting and maintaining 1.25 lakh native saplings for the next three years, we are ensuring these trees survive and flourish.

Our vision is simple: not just to plant a million trees, but to create a lasting environmental legacy that future generations of Bangaloreans will inherit with pride.” Nirbhay Lumde, Senior Vice-President, ESG & Sustainability, Prestige Group, further added, "Environmental sustainability is most meaningful when commitments extend beyond a single day of planting.

Our participation in the Bengaluru Urban Ecological Restoration Mission reflects Prestige's belief that long-term stewardship is essential to achieving measurable ecological outcomes. We hope this initiative inspires businesses and communities to play an active role in restoring Bengaluru's green cover."

For nearly four decades, Prestige has transformed Bengaluru’s skyline. Today, it is equally committed to transforming its environmental future. Through Prestige Green Promise, the Group is investing in restoring biodiversity, improving urban climate resilience and leaving behind a greener legacy for future generations.

Prestige Green Promise is envisioned as one of India’s most ambitious long-term urban ecological initiatives led by a private real estate developer. Through sustained investment in afforestation, biodiversity conservation and environmental stewardship, Prestige Group aims to contribute meaningfully towards making Bengaluru one of India’s greenest and most sustainable metropolitan cities.
