Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. A. Sreenivas, said that as per the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), extensive preparations are being made in Haryana to ensure the successful, effective, transparent, and error-free implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. He said that to facilitate the smooth conduct of this process, a special training programme is being organised from June 5 to 12, 2026, for Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Additional Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across all districts of the state.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that the primary objective of this training programme is to make the entire revision process transparent and error-free. During the training, BLOs are being provided detailed information and instructions on key aspects, including proper verification of deceased or migrated voters, efficient use of the Election Commission’s digital technologies and applications, achieving 100 percent registration by ensuring that every eligible citizen’s name is included in the electoral roll so that no eligible voter is deprived of the right to vote, and completing all assigned tasks within the timeline prescribed by the ECI with seriousness and responsibility.

He said that BLOs are the strongest link between the public and the Election Commission. They are required to establish effective communication with voters and connect every eligible citizen with this process.

He further said that to ensure complete transparency in the process, orientation workshops are also being organised in all districts for Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by various political parties. The objective of these workshops is to familiarise them with the finer details of the Special Intensive Revision, its objectives, and their role and responsibilities in the process, so that they can actively contribute to this national exercise.

Sh. A. Sreenivas said that a toll-free number, 1950, has been activated in all districts of the state for the convenience of voters and for the prompt resolution of their grievances. Besides this, special help desks have been established in the offices of all Electoral Registration Officers.

He said that voters can check their names in the electoral roll, apply for new registration (inclusion of name), and get necessary corrections or modifications made to their existing records. The Chief Electoral Officer has directed the concerned officers to ensure that all required forms are made readily available to citizens visiting the help desks and that every election-related issue is resolved promptly on the spot.
