Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma chaired a meeting at the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah Shrine to review arrangements for the forthcoming Urs scheduled for June 25 and 26. The DC held detailed discussions on transportation, traffic management, crowd management, fire safety, water and power supply, sanitation and other essential services for the event.
Departments concerned were directed to ensure adequate arrangements for devotees. The Deputy Commissioner directed effective traffic regulation, proper crowd management and deployment of adequate manpower at key locations. A comprehensive fire safety audit of the shrine premises is to be conducted with necessary fire safety equipment in place.
Uninterrupted water and power supply are to be maintained, with additional water tankers arranged to meet any exigency. The DC directed strengthening of CCTV surveillance around the shrine and other important locations for effective monitoring and enhanced security.
Agencies concerned are to install adequate signages at strategic points for the guidance of devotees. The DC directed the establishment of a Disaster Control Room and Help Desk to provide immediate assistance to devotees during the Urs and emphasised close coordination among all departments throughout the event.
