Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today joined the protest by the cab drivers of various app based transport companies. The protesting drivers staged a massive protest here in support of their various demands.

The main demands included increasing the fair and reducing the exorbitant commission charged by the app based companies. Addressing the protesting drivers, Warring said that the Congress party supported their demands. He agreed with the drivers with a substantial hike in the prices of fuel, operating the cabs has not remained financially viable.

The PCC president noted that it was not only the problem of the cab drivers, but also the daily commuters who will bear the brunt of the protests. He said the private cab operators have been providing immense services to the public and it was the duty of the government to concede their demands.

Warring said that the Congress had included the welfare of the gig workers including the cab drivers in its manifesto also. He promised that  once the Congress forms government in the state, it will ensure that all the demands of the drivers of the app based transport companies will be met.
