Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated a state-run ‘Telangana Public School’ (TPS), equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, at Arutla in Ranga Reddy district near here on Wednesday and announced that a TPS will be established in every Assembly Constituency to provide quality education.

He said these schools will also train the students in sports to produce India's talented sports persons in the future. Addressing a public meeting on the occasion, he stated that the future of Telangana lies in the classrooms. “Telangana's future does not lie in glass-embellished palaces or colourful walls.

We firmly believe it lies within the classrooms," he said. The Chief Minister dedicated Arutla TPS, built at a cost of Rs 15 crore, to all students at government schools across Telangana. He asserted that the same spirit will be carried to benefit 27 lakh students studying in the government schools in the state.

He went around the school premises to inspect digital classrooms, library, labs, modern kitchen and dining hall and had breakfast with students. He also played football with the students. "We are strengthening government schools based on the recommendations of the Education Commission.

1,814 students have already enrolled in the Arutla Telangana Public School. It’s a matter of pride that 'No Admission' board has to be put up at a government school in view of huge competition for admissions,” he said. CM Revanth Reddy commended the Arutla TPS teachers for competing with corporate educational institutions.

He stated that in a move to bring out the talented students with great potential, the government also initiated steps to strengthen the government schools. The establishment of Telangana Public Schools is a sincere effort to revive the abandoned education system, he said.

Revanth Reddy, who also holds the education portfolio, stated that the government is spending Rs 27,000 crore on education every year. The Chief Minister noted that many great leaders, including former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and officials, studied in the government schools.

The CM revealed that he also studied in a government school. The Chief Minister suggested that the students excel in education so that the parents can live with self-respect. He emphasised that every student should perform well in their studies, aiming to become IAS, IPS officers and future political leaders.

CM Revanth Reddy warned the political rivals that they will lose their opposition status in the next Assembly elections if they do not stop brewing false allegations against the state government. He said for education kits, the government called tenders worth Rs 680 crore, but the opposition parties are alleging that Rs 2,000 crore scam has occurred.

He suggested that all the political opponents visit Arutla TPS and study the government's efforts to strengthen the public education system. The CM highlighted that the students were provided breakfast, midday meal, quality uniforms and kits.

The establishment of 'Young India Integrated Residential Schools' and 'Young India Skills University’ is also part of efforts to provide quality education and skills to the youth. CM Revanth Reddy stressed that sports should be given importance to bring out talent in schools.

The Young India Sports University has been established with an aim to win medals in the Olympic Games. A sports training programme has already been launched in the schools.
